I am a biologist with experience in K-20 education in STEM topics ranging from earth science through cell biology. Previously, I worked as a research scientist and biology instructor at Occidental College and I am currently a volunteer educator with the California Science Center, where I put on hour-long, interactive demonstrations in a variety of STEM topics.
Experience
AP Biology - 4; AP Calculus - 4; AP English (both) - 4 I love working with kids. I have been a tutor for three years, have taught college courses for the past two years, and currently teach guests of all ages at the California Science Center. There is nothing more rewarding to me than helping people to understand science and math such that they may someday grow to appreciate and love it as I do. I want to be a tutor because I love teaching and hope my passion for the sciences might rub off on someone through helping them to understand them better. I have taken all levels of math and science from high school through college. I also worked in a research lab for ten years and from that have received a number of grants and awards.

I love to run and am currently a board member with the Los Angeles Frontrunners. I also love to hike, bike, and spend time outdoors. I am an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction and also love to go to the movies. I have an annual pass to Universal Studios where I spend most of my time at Hogwarts/Hogsmeade, fulfilling my love of Harry Potter. I am fun-loving, kind, and have a great sense of humor.
