I'm a language tutor who is fluent in both Taiwanese and Mandarin Chinese. I'm originally from Taiwan, and I came to the United States at the age of 11. I began tutoring as a high school student, and I've had the experience of working with Chinese students who were born in America, students from Korea, and students in the US who are interested in learning Mandarin. When I work with a student, I am always focused on the individual and their goals. Some students prioritize the ability to communicate, while others may be taken a course and need to focus on writing and reading the language. I often help students who are taking Chinese language classes, and I help them review information and prepare them for exams. I believe immersion is the best way to learn the language, and so I simulate that as much as I can in sessions. This help students learn more quickly. I also bring activities to help students understand the language better, as well as the culture and history. When I have free time, I enjoy hiking, going to the beach, doing yoga, shopping, designing websites, cooking, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends.
