Experience
I have twelve (12) years of experience teaching writing at the college level. I have taught at the University of Michigan, the University of Southern California, Mount St. Mary's College, Scripps College, Pomona College, and Pasadena City College. In all of my years of teaching writing, I have found that the best learning comes through individual conferences with my students. Here I can take the time to show students how to analyze a passage, how to construct a thesis, how to organize paragraphs, how to write a fabulous title. In addition, I have experience reading Composition Placement Exams and a long history of evaluating student writing at the university level: from large research institutions, to community colleges, to liberal arts colleges.
