AVAILABLE ANY TIME FOR SUMMER TUTORING!! I am am a 5th grade teacher with years of one on one tutoring experience! I started tutoring at the Azusa Public Library tutoring K-5th students in reading and Math. Throughout college, I was an AVID tutor at Claremont High School where I tutored students in grades 9-12 in small groups of 1-7 students in any subject. The AVID program is a class that prepares students from grades 4-12 for college readiness by enhancing student learning using meaningful and motivational brain based instruction within a classroom through small group academic tutoring. I have also been employed as an AVID tutor at Pomona High School, Goddard and Sandburg Middle Schools. As an AVID tutor and life long learner, I have experience in the college preparation process as well as study skills and school organization. I know how to help students write college entrance essays, navigate the FAFSA and how to look for college scholarships. I have also tutored and taught weekend classes to prepare for the CAHSEE (California High School Exit Exam) in reading, writing and math. I have a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies (elementary education), a Masters of Education and a Multiple Subject teaching credential; all from the University of La Verne. I am currently teaching 5th grade at an elementary school in Los Angeles and I love it!! My passion is helping students of ALL ages. I also teach flute and basic music theory. I have been playing the flute for almost 20 years! Since I work full time, I am interested in tutoring for SUMMER. If you would like to start tutoring in late May/ early June, please contact me!
